Taylor Announces Development Of California Legal 400 Series Service Rig

In July of this year, Taylor will deliver it’s first California-legal 400 class service unit. The 4-axle, 425 Hp unit will offer a 96' double mast, providing a maximum hook load of 205,000 lbs. The CA-400 will utilize Caterpillar’s new C-13 Tier IV on-highway engine and TH-35 automatic transmission. To date, Taylor has contracts in place for five of the new units.

“California represented a new dynamic market which had particular barriers to entry for the typical well service unit. The new CA-400 represents Taylor’s continued commitment to providing customers with unique solutions to their equipment needs. We sat down with our California-based customers and asked them what they needed in a service unit. As a result of the efforts of Taylor’s product development group, we were able to deliver a unit to match the customer’s unique service needs, while still complying with all applicable California Caltrans & CAARP requirements,” said Brett Taylor, president of sales at Taylor Industries.
