Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Can Taylor custom build equipment to my specifications?
A. Yes, Taylor is first and foremost a manufacturing and design company. We have a wide variety of standard products, and we welcome the opportunity to design a custom product specifically for your unique application.
Q. What is the typical lead time on a new rig?
A. A standard rig will typically take 4 to 6 months to deliver, depending on current market activity and product features. Custom units will likely take longer due to the necessary design and development time required on the specialty product.
Q. Does Taylor build other products?
Taylor is a well versed manufacturing company. Over the years, the company has produced a variety of products, from pumping units to powerboats. In addition to our standard products, we build custom proprietary products as well as private label products for other companies. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss your particular product needs.
Q. How do I determine which Taylor product is best for my application?
A. In the products section of this site, the standard products are outlined and a general performance detail is provided. This information should allow you to narrow your search. We then recommend you contact one of Taylor's experienced sales persons to further assist you.
Q. Can I get a standard unit with some custom features?
Yes! Each standard rig is offered with an impressive list of options, accessories and tools. The base unit is very well equipped and our trained staff can assist you in selecting the options that have the most benefit to your particular application.
Q. What is the warranty on a new Taylor?
One of the best features of any new Taylor product is our warranty and product support program. Every unit carries a one year labor and materials warranty on all components manufactured by Taylor. Additionally, Taylor will support all manufacturers warranties on purchased components such as engines, transmissions and axles. We have a well service and support team providing service from training and commissioning to 24 hr. "rig down" service in the field. No one beats Taylor for service after the sale.
Q. How will my new Taylor be supported after the sale?
A. Each new Taylor comes with a full day in-field commissioning program. This is conducted by one of Taylor's experienced service members. Additionally, the technical service crew is available 24 hrs a day to service your warranty and service needs. We have one of the largest field service groups in the industry, trained to support your needs at any time and in any condition. With Taylor you get a long term partner not just a piece of equipment.
Q. Why should I buy from Taylor?
A. Value. At Taylor, we strive to continually provide our customers with the best product for their money. We will rarely be the cheapest or most expensive rig on the market, but we do provide the greatest value for the dollar. This is demonstrated in a design that requires little maintenance and does not include a large number of complex parts or systems. This make the unit easy to operate and inexpensive to maintain. Additionally, the products are well equipped in standard form. We do not try to nickel and dime our customers to get a rig "field ready". When you buy a base rig, you can add tools and take it right to the field and get to work. Finally, Taylor service and support after the sale is simply the best in the industry. This is a feature that cannot be more important in today's market.
Q. What makes Taylor and it products different from the competition?
First, it begins with the basic design. Following the principles established by the founder, the Taylor product is one of the simplest, yet most innovative products on the market. Unlike other manufacturers, we do not look to electronics and computers as sources of innovation. We focus on reducing part counts, improving overall design simplicity and reducing weight.
Second, each unit is custom built to your specific needs. While each unit typically begins as a standard product, each customer is given an opportunity to make the rig "their own". This includes a multitude of options, accessories and tools.
Finally, Taylor is a well established company, which has been around for many years. In an up market, equipment builders are numerous. You can be assured that Taylor will be here in the long run, long after those "start-ups" are gone.
Q. Why should I wait for a new Taylor, when I can buy "off the shelf"?
A. You would not expect to get a four-star meal from a drive through. Why would you expect a four-star product from an "off-the shelf" builder? The fact is that a rig is a substantial investment that you will depend on to produce revenue for many, many years to come. Quality and workmanship take time and add greater product value. This increased value creates a dedicated customer base and a very desirable product. As with any investment, cheap and quick is rarely the best choice.
